  1. World AIDS Day is observed on 1 December every year to raise awareness and Knowledge about HIV and a call to move toward ending the HIV epidemic. The theme for World AIDS Day 2022 is “Equalize”.
  2. Nagaland on 1 December, 2022 celebrated its 60th statehood day. It became the 16th State of the Union of India on 1st December 1963.
  3. The World Health Organization announced that Monkeypox is to be renamed mpox, in a bid to avoid stigmatisation stemming from the existing name.
  4. At the Turf 2022 and India Sports Awards of FICCI, Avani Lekhara, who won two medals at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, was recognized as the Para Sports Person of the Year.
  5. Union Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, inaugurated multiple flights on 29 November, 2022 to expand the connectivity to the north-eastern region.
  6. The Government e-Marketplace, GeM platform has crossed one lakh crore rupees Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) till 29 November, 2022 for the financial year 2022-2023.
  7. President Droupadi Murmu conferred the National Sports Awards 2022 and National Adventure Awards 2021 to the awardees at a function at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 30 November, 2022.
  8. India has assumed the Presidency of the G20 for one year from 1 December, 2022 to 30 November, 2023.

  10. Well-known Yakshagana and Talamaddale artist, Kumble Sundar Rao passed away on 30 November, 2022.
  11. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) released a report in November 2022 recommending Australia’s Great Barrier Reef (GBR) on a list of world heritage sites in danger.
  12. The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has approved the Himalayan Yak as a ‘food animal’.
  13. According to the Knight Frank report, released in November 2022, Mumbai was ranked at 22nd rank in ‘Prime Global Cities Index Q3 (July-September) 2022’.
  14. Prasoon Joshi has been appointed by Uttarakhand Government as the state’s brand ambassador.
  15. The Government of India has decided to illuminate 100 monuments in the country with the G20 logo on 1 December, 2022 to mark the first day of India’s Presidency of the G-20 group.
  16. India celebrates the 58th BSF Raising Day (1st December) in 2022. This is for the first time that the Raising Day Parade of India’s first line of defense is being held in Punjab and the second time outside the national capital.
  17. The world economy may be slowing but India’s richest have grown even richer this year. The Forbes 2022 list of India’s 100 richest is finally here, according to which, the combined wealth of India’s 100 richest grew by $25 billion to touch a colossal $800 billion.
