  1. International Human Solidarity Day (IHSD) is observed annually on 20 December across the globe to celebrate the ideal of unity in diversity.
  2. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully conducted the first blowdown test of the newly released 160m Trisonic Wind Tunnel at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.  
  3. The 599th meeting of the board of Reserve Bank of India was held in Kolkata on 16 December. The meeting was chaired by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. 
  4. Union Health Minister, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya recently inaugurated ICMR-NARFBR (Indian Council of Medical Research- National Animal Resource Facility for Biomedical Research) at Genome Valley, Hyderabad in presence of C. Malla Reddy, Minister of Labour and Employment, Telangana. 
  5. In Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has unveiled the logo, website and social media handles of the Urban-20 conference in Gandhinagar. 
  6. The United States Air Force successfully tested AGM-183A Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW or Arrow), a hypersonic missile which represents a cutting edge, strategic weapons system developed by Russia and China. 
  7. Tata Steel Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hockey India to become an official partner of the FIH Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 in Bhubaneswar – Rourkela, Odisha. 
  8. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of senior Nuclear Scientist Dinesh Kumar Shukla to the post of Chairperson of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board for a period of three years. 
  9. Polish tennis player, Iga Świątek, has been named Women’s ITF World Champion 2022 for her performance in 2022 winning 2 Grand Slam titles and 8 titles. 
  10. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Minister of School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, has introduced the ‘Friends of Library’ scheme, which would personally deliver books to people who are unable to visit state-run libraries. 
  11. Indian Navy’s sailboat INSV Tarini has set sail for an expedition to Cape Town, South Africa for participating in the 50th edition of Cape to Rio Race 2023. 
  12. On 19 December France footballer Karim Benzema has announced his retirement from International football. 
  13. On 16 December 2022, the eve of 75 years of raising of the Infantry School and to commemorate the Vijay Diwas, India’s first & world’s second Infantry Research Centre and Museum was inaugurated in the Mhow Cantonment in Indore district, Madhya Pradesh.
  14. The 48th Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council meeting was conducted virtually on 17 December, 2022 in New Delhi and was presided over by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Ministry of Finance (MoF).
  15. Air Marshal PV Iyer (retd.) has launched his book ‘Fit At Any Age’ at India International Centre, New Delhi. 
  16. India will be the first country to auction spectrum for satellite communication.
