  1. International Day of Epidemic Preparedness is annually observed on 27 December across the globe to raise awareness of the importance of prevention of, preparedness for, and collaboration against epidemics. 
  2. West Bengal’s first Vande Bharat Express from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 December. 
  3. SBI Funds Management Limited (SBIFML), a joint venture between State Bank of India (SBI) and Amundi, Europe’s largest asset manager, appointed Shamsher Singh as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. 
  4. The Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize has been jointly won by Sudeep Sen for his genre and formbender ‘Anthropocene: Climate Change, Contagion, Consolation’ (Pippa Rann Books & Media, 2021) and Shobhana Kumar for her haibun collection ‘A Sky Full of Bucket Lists’ (Red River, 2021). 
  5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a program marking the first ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, Delhi on 26 December, 2022.
  6. Sitiveni Rabuka, was confirmed as Fiji’s next Prime Minister replacing Frank Bainimarama, more than two decades after the former military commander first held the office in a term lasting nearly seven years. 
  7. On 23 December 2022, International cyclist Swasti Singh hailing from Odisha has been honoured with the 30th Ekalabya Puraskar for the year 2022 during a programme organized by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the charitable wing of IMFA. 
  8. The Union Defence Ministry approved a proposal on 25 December, 2022 to buy around 120 ‘Pralay’ballistic missiles to be deployed along the China and Pakistan borders. 
  9. Researchers at IIT Kanpur have developed an artificial heart, which would be helpful to people suffering from acute cardiac problems. 
  10. Indian archers dominated the Asia Cup 2022 stage 3 held in Sharjah from 20 to 25 December and topped the medals tally at the continental meet with 10 medals – five golds, three silvers and two bronze.
