  1. World Cancer Day is annually observed across the globe on 4 February to raise awareness towards cancer and to encourage its identification, prevention and treatment. The campaign theme of World Cancer Day 2022-2024 is “Close the care Gap”.
  2. The International Day of Human Fraternity is observed every year on 4 February.
  3. A meeting of the Quad Senior Cyber Group was held in New Delhi to strengthen cyber security cooperation on 30-31 January, 2023.
  4. The Reserve Bank appointed V Ramachandra, former Chief General Manager of Canara Bank, as a member of the Advisory Committee of Srei Infrastructure Limited (SIFL) and Srei Equipment Finance Limited (SEFL).
  5. The philanthropic arm of the Tata Group and largest shareholder in the group holding company, Tata Trusts named Siddharth Sharma, as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Aparna Uppaluri, as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointments of the new CEO and COO will come into effect from 1 April, 2023.
  6. Eminent Air Private Limited, a New Delhi based drone start-up, showcased India’s first one-of-its-kind drone with a parachute integrated system as part of an event to mark its inaugural flight.
  7. The Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that the Indian Railways will be introducing hydrogen and electric trains to the eight heritage routes in the country by December 2023.
  8. The Government of Goa has launched the Vision for All School Eye Health program in partnership with OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation and Prasad Netralaya.
  9. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his US counterpart Jake Sullivan formally launched the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) in Washington.

  11. India will be invited as the focal country at the Madrid International Book Fair in 2025, the Ambassador of Spain to the country Jose Maria Ridao announced on 2 February, 2023.
  12. Indian-American US Representative Pramila Jayapal has been named Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement.
  13. The Madhya Pradesh Government announced that Islam Nagar village, situated in the Bhopal district, has been renamed as Jagdishpur.
  14. Kerala won the inaugural National Beach Soccer Championships held at Dumas Beach, Surat, on 1 February, 2023.
  15. India welcomed the Republic of Congo into International Solar Alliance (ISA).
  16. Noted Telugu director Sagar aka Vidyasagar Reddy has passed away on 2 February, 2023 at the age of 70.
