  1. Every year on the 14th of December, ‘National Energy Conservation Day’ is celebrated in India.
  2. Himachal Pradesh govt announced setting up a Commission for upper castes, on the lines of Madhya Pradesh. The Commission, to be named as ‘Samanya Varg Aayog’.
  3. Union Minister Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr Virendra Kumar has launched National Helpline against atrocities on SCs, STs. The Helpline will be available 24X7 on toll-free number – 14566.
  4. In Madhya Pradesh, the first drone fair in the country was organized at Gwalior.
  5. Mriduala Ramesh, the founder of Sundaram Climate Institute, which works on water and waste solutions and the angel investor in cleantech start-ups, has authored a new book titled “Watershed: How We Destroyed India’s Water And How We Can Save It”.
  6. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated ‘Swarnim Vijay Parv’ commemorating 50 years of India’s victory in the 1971 war. He inaugurates ‘Wall of Fame -1971 Indo-Pak War’ at the inaugural ceremony.
  7. The Chairperson of Lokpal Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose has launched a digital platform for the management of complaints. The portal is called ‘LokpalOnline’ and it can be accessed easily by all the citizens of the country. 
  8. India on 13 December successfully tested a long-range Supersonic Missile Assisted Torpedo (SMART) System developed by DRDO.
  9. India has been re-elected to International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council for the 2022-2023 biennium under category B states.
  10. Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk has been named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” for 2021.
  11. The United Arab Emirates has announced to change its existing five-day workweek to a four-and-a-half day starting January 1, 2022. According to the new schedule, Monday to Thursday the work timings would be from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm, followed by a half-day on Friday from 7.30 am to 12.00 pm. Saturdays and Sundays are full-day holidays under the new rule.
  12. Dubai has become the first government in the world to turn 100 percent Paperless .
  13. The Meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers took place in Liverpool during which the delegates unitedly condemned Russia’s military build-up near Ukraine and called the country to de-escalate. The Group of 7 nations has warned Russia to face major consequences and pay costs of President of Russia Vladimir Putin decided to attack Ukraine.
  14. The President of China Xi Jinping and President of Russia Vladimir Putin are scheduled to hold a virtual meeting on December 15, 2021. The news was shared by the Spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
  15. The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed fromer  ICC Chief Financial Officer Faisal Hasnain as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) , replacing Wasim Khan.
  16. India won a total of 6 medals, including 2 gold and 4 silver medals in the Asian Rowing Championship in Thailand.
