  1. Nadi Utsav is being celebrated in India across the State between 16-23 December. 
  2. President Ram Nath Kovind on 17 December inaugurated the historic  Sri Ramna Kali Mandir of Dhaka, 50 Years after it was destroyed by the Pakistani forces in 1971.
  3. The Ministry of AYUSH on 16 December announced to build a “Marma Chikitsa” training centre in the Uttarakhand Ayurveda University as the nodal centre for the Country.
  4. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh Government to train the farmers in good farm management practices and sustainable agricultural methods.
  5. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has launched the online Inner Line Permit (ILP) module portal.
  6. Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur formally inaugurated the first-ever national-level Khelo India Women’s Hockey League at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.
  7. Bhutan on 17 December conferred the Country’s highest civilian award – “Ngadag Pel gi khorlo” upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  8. The Union Cabinet on 15 December took the decision to raise the legal age of marriage for women from 18 to 21 years.
  9. Arvind Kumar has joined as Director General of Software Technology Parks of India.
  10. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $112 million loan to strengthen skills education and training through the establishment of the Assam Skill University (ASU).
  11. Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has signed a purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 4,667 MW of green power. It is the world’s largest-ever Green Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
  12. Rear Admiral Sandeep Mehta has assumed office as the Flag Officer Commanding Maharashtra Naval Area (FOMA), Mumbai.
  13. Vice Admiral Sanjoy Vatsayan assumed charge as chief of staff of the Eastern Naval Command on 16 December.
  14. The government has slashed the GST rate on ethanol meant for blending under the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme to 5% from 18% .
  15. India’s TVS Motor Company will develop electric vehicles (EV) with BMW’s motorcycle brand in Indial.
  16. NASA’s Parker Solar Probe has entered the Sun’s upper atmosphere for, first time in history. In 2018, launched the Parker Solar Probe aims to unravel the mysteries of the Sun by travelling closer to it.
  17. WhatsApp has announced the Digital Payments Utsav for 500 villages in India. The aim is to empower villagers with access to digital payments via the ‘payments on WhatsApp’.
  18. India will host the Women’s Under-18 and Under-19 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championships in 2022.
  19. Simone Biles was named Time magazine’s 2021 ‘Athlete of the Year’.
  20. The seven-time Formula One Champion Lewis Hamilton  received a new title ‘Knighthood’ at Windsor Castle, London.
