  1. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has approved the setting up of India’s first geological park at Lamheta village on the banks of the Narmada river in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
  2. The Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary near Jamnagar in Gujarat and Bakhira Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh have been listed as Wetlands of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention.
