  1. ‘World Rotaract Day’ is celebrated on the 13th March every year to acknowledge the services provided by the rotaractors across the World. The theme of World Rotaract Day 2022 is “Rotary Making a Difference”. ‘World Rotaract Week’ will be held from 11 March 2022 to 18 March 2022.
  2. ‘World Glaucoma Day’ is annually observed across the global on 12th March to create awareness about Glaucoma, the one of the most common cause of irreversible blindness. The theme of ‘World Glaucoma Week’ (WGW) 2022 is “The World is bright, save your sight”.
  3. A Special Logo was unveiled to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Netherlands, in March 2022. The logo features a lotus and a tulip – the national flowers of both countries.
  4. Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC) inaugurated and fully operationalized India’s largest floating solar power plant, in March 2022.
  5. The Centre has cleared the appointment of Delhi High Court Chief Justice D.N. Patel as the next Chairperson of the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).
  6. Singapore’s T Raja Kumar has been appointed as the President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
  7. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Odisha became top state in the list of full immunization in India with 90.5 per cent coverage under ‘Mission Indradhanush’.
  8. The International Labour Organization (ILO) report “Care at Work: Investing in Care Leave Policies and Care Services for a More Gender Equal World of Work” was released on March 7, 2022, ahead of International Women’s Day, and was based on an ILO Legal survey of 185 countries. The report highlights eight key messages.
  9.  The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has set the interest rate on Provident Fund Deposits for 2021-22 at 8.1%, up from 8.5% in the previous fiscal year 2020-21.
  10.  The government of Odisha and the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) signed an agreement for the creation of fisheries infrastructure to boost fish production.
  11. The European Space Agency (ESA) introduced its new one-of-a-kind mission named “Vigil” which is meant to protect the Earth from its nearest star.
  12. On March 11, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Buggana Rajendranath, presented AP’s Budget for 2022-23 with a proposed expenditure of Rs 2.56 lakh crore and a projected revenue deficit of Rs 17,036 crore.
  13.  The Union government has launched ‘Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav’ to bring out-of-school girls back to the education system.
  14.  Delhi Airport has retained the best airport position under the highest category for three consecutive years 2018, 2019 and 2020 in the Asia-Pacific region.
  15.  The Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has once again retained Pakistan on the increased monitoring list, also known as the “grey list”.
  16. Gabriel Boric Font has been appointed as the new and 36th President of Chile. The 36-year-old leftist is the youngest leader to hold the office in Chile’s history.
