CURRENT AFFAIRS OF 10^th APRIL 2022

1. ‘World Homeopathy Day’ is celebrated each year on April 10 to pay tribute to homeopathy and its contribution to the world medicine. This year, the theme for World Homeopathy Day in India is ‘People’s Choice for Wellness’.
2. ‘Palm Sunday’ was observed on 10 April 2022. It is the Sunday before Easter that begins the holy week. The Occasion denotes the arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem.
3. The Union Minister of AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal has inaugurated a two-day scientific convention on the theme ‘Homeopathy: People’s Choice for Wellness’ in New Delhi.
4. Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi on 9 April 2022, inaugurated the ‘INDIA Alumni’ portal to facilitate foreign scholars who have studied in the country to remain connected. It was launched by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
5. President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated a five-day fair at Madhavpur Ghed village in Gujarat’s Porbandar district, on 10 April 2022.
6. The Vigilance Department of Uttarakhand has developed an anti-corruption mobile app, ‘Corruption-Free Uttarakhand App-1064’. The app was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister (CM), Pushkar Singh Dhami.
7. On 8^th April, 2022, Chairman of Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB), P. Gopi Krishna launched ‘Vikas Siri Sampat- 1111’, a new deposit scheme of the Bank.
8. Union Minister of Defence, Rajnath Singh inaugurated a three-day Air Force Commanders’ Conference (AFCC) at Vayu Bhawan in New Delhi.
9. The Defence Research and Development Organization and Indian Army successfully flight-tested a new version of the Pinaka rocket system at the Pokhran firing ranges.
10. India’s space tech startup Pixxel has successfully launched its first commercial satellite called ‘Shakuntala’ with Space X’s Falcon-9 rocket.
11. India’s first indigenously developed polycentric prosthetic knee – “Kadam” was launched by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M).
12. On 8^th April, 2022, SpaceX successfully launched “Axion- 1 (Ax-1)” to the International Space Station (ISS). It is a joint mission of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and Axiom Space.
13. Dr. Mahesh Verma has been appointed the new Chairman of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare providers (NABH).
14.  Pakistan’s Army on 9 April, 2022 conducted a successful flight test of the surface-to-surface medium-range ballistic missile ‘Shaheen-III’.
15. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan-led Government was ousted from power on 9 April 2022 after he failed the no-confidence motion moved against him by the opposition.
16. Dipika Pallikal won the women’s doubles and mixed doubles titles with Joshna Chinappa and Saurav Ghosal, respectively at the ‘World Doubles Squash Championships’ in Glasgow on 9 April 2022.
