  1. ‘International Labour Day’ is observed globally on 1 May every year. It is also known as International Workers’ Day and May Day.
  2. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) celebrated 1 May, 2022 as ‘Ujjwala Diwas’ to celebrate the achievements of PMUY.
  3. Film and TV actor Salim Ghouse passed away in Mumbai after suffering a cardiac arrest.
  4. ‘INS Gharial’, as part of ‘Mission SAGAR IX’, arrived at Colombo on 29 April 2022 and delivered over 760 kgs of 107 types of critical life saving medicines.
  5.  Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated 12 national highway projects totalling 460 km, worth 8000 crores and seven CRIF Projects in Hyderabad on 29 April 2022.
  6.  Maharashtra became the first State in India to develop a website-based Migration Tracking System (MTS) application to track the movement of migrant workers through individual unique identity numbers.
  7. Anshul Swami has been named Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shivalik Small Finance Bank.
  8.  The Tata Group has been attempting to improve Air India’s performance since its takeover in January, 2022.
  9.  India, China, Russia and four other countries have been added to the US’s annual ‘Priority Watch List’ for intellectual property protection and enforcement.
  10. The Sitio Burle Marx site, a landscape garden in Brazilian city Rio de Janeiro has been added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.
  11.  The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has signed an MoU with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
  12.  PM Narendra Modi inaugurated a joint conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts on 30 April, 2022.
  13.  Vinay Mohan Kwatra took charge as India’s new Foreign Secretary. A 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Mr Kwatra succeeded Harsh Vardhan Shringla who retired from service.
  14.  R. Madhavan’s son Vedaant Madhavan won a gold medal in swimming at the Danish Open 2022 in Copenhagen, in April 2022.
  15.  Former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki passed away in April 2022.
