  1. ‘Anti-Terrorism Day’ is observed every year on 21 May, on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
  2. The ‘International Tea Day’ is observed on  21 May every year. The first International Tea Day was held in Delhi, India in 2005.
  3. Jet Airways is all set to become the first Indian carrier to revive operations under India’s bankruptcy law in September 2022.
  4. On 20 May, IAS officer Gyanesh Bharti was appointed as the new commissioner of the Unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
  5. The first-ever Professional International Boxing Tournament of Bangladesh was held in Dhaka on 19 May.
  6. PNB MetLife India Insurance Co. has launched India’s first dental health insurance plan.
  7. Author and journalist Wesley Morgan has won the William E. Colby Award 2022  for his military and intelligence writing. 
  8. The New Development Bank (NDB), the Shanghai-based multilateral bank of the BRICS countries, will open its first regional office in India at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
  9. East Timorese independence fighter and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jose Ramos-Horta Was sworn in as the country’s fifth president of May 20.

  11.  Astrosat, India’s first dedicated astronomy mission, witnessed the birth of black holes for the five hundredth time on 20 May, 2022.
  12.  The Indian men’s compound team won a gold medal in Archery World Cup 2022 state-Two in Gwangju, South Korea on 20 May, 2022.
  13.  Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav participated in the 8th BRICS Environment Ministers Meeting which was held virtually under the Presidency of China.
  14.  Nikhat Zareen won a gold medal at the 2022 IBS Women’s World Boxing Championships.
