  1. ‘World Sea Turtle Day’ is observed every year on June 16. This day is celebrated to save this aquatic species from extinction.
  2. International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR) is observed every year on June 16. The theme for 2022 is ‘Recovery and resilience through digital and financial inclusion’.
  3. Union Cabinet has approved the development of new Dholera greenfield airport in Gujarat. The Airport is planned for operationalization from 2025-26.
  4. India will host two-day Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ meeting starting from 16 June, 2022.
  5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Kranti Gatha’ on 14 June, 2022. It is a newly created Gallery of Indian Revolutionaries inside the underground British era bunker at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.
  6. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) launched an eight-day-long Mango Festival in Bahrain on 13 June, 2022.
  7. India has jumped six positions to 37th rank on the annual World Competitiveness Index for the year 2022.
  8. India, Israel, UAE, and the US have formed a new 4 nations grouping named ‘I2U2’, ‘I’ is for India and Israel and ‘U’ is for the Us and UAE.
  9. Justice Bhimanagouda Patil has been appointed as the new Lokayukta of Karnataka.
  10.  Surat in Gujarat has become the first city in the country to get a processed steel slag (industrial waste) road.
  11.  India on 15 June, 2022 successfully carried out the launch of the Prithvi-II short-range ballistic missile from an integrated test range in Odisha.
  12.  The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai has launched a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) and Solar PV hybrid (Solar Mill).
