  1. The ‘International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict’ is an international event conducted by the United Nations (UN) on June 19 each year. The Theme for this year’s observance of International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict is ‘Prevention as Protection: Enhancing Structural and operational prevention of conflict-related sexual viloence’.
  2. India celebrates June 19 as the ‘National Reading Day’ in honour of P. N. Panicker, the Father of the Library and Literacy Movement in Kerala.
  3. The World’s largest living plant has been identified in the shallow waters off the coast of Western Australia.
