  1. International Day of Yoga is celebrated worldwide on 21June since 2015.  This year, the 8th edition of the International Day of Yoga has been observed. The theme for International Day of Yoga 2022 is “Yoga for humanity”.
  2. This year International Day of the Celebration of the Solstice has been observed globally on 21 June.
  3. World Music Day is celebrated every year on 21 June. The day gives respect to the art form of music that binds people across culture, region, language and religion. The theme for World Music Day 2022 is “Music on the intersections”.
  4. On 21 June, South Korea launched its first domestically built space rocket in second attempt. It is a three-stage rocket, which is carrying a functioning “performance verification” satellite. It is named as Nuri rocket.
  5. Veteran photojournalist, R. Raveendran passed away at the age of 69. He was presently working with ANI as Photo Editor.
  6. A 300kg (661lb) stingray caught in the Mekong river in Cambodia is recorded as World’s largest freshwater fish.
  7. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has introduced Dhan Sanchay, a non-linked, non-participating individual savings life insurance plan that offers both protection and savings.
  8. The Centre's Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) will collaborate with the State Bank of India (SBI) to create an integrated pension portal to enhance ease of living of pensioners.
  9. In the Indian Coast Guard, a new air squadron known as 840 CG Squadron was inducted in Chennai, with an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mark-III aircraft as its first aircraft.

  11. US-Canadian author, film-maker and Zen Buddhist priest, Ruth Ozeki has won the Women’s Prize for Fiction this year for her novel ‘The Book of Form and Emptiness'.
  12. Scoring his 84th International goal against Hong Kong during the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers Indian Men’s football team captain, Sunil Chhetri became joint 5th highest goalscorer with Real Madrid and Hungarian Football Legend Ferenc Puskás.
  13. The 2022 Skytrax World Airport Awards named Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport the finest in India and South Asia for the 4th consecutive year at the ceremony conducted at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris on 16 June, 2022.
