  1. Every year on June 21, World Hydrography Day is celebrated. The theme for 2022 is “Hydrography – contributing to the United Nations Ocean Decade”.
  2. Canadian-American author Ruth Ozeki has won the 2022 ‘Women’s Prize for Fiction’. She has won the award for her novel “The Book of Form and Emptiness”.
  3. Assam has become the 36th State to implement the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ (ONORC scheme.
  4. Legendary Australian cricketer Lisa Sthalekar has become the first woman President of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Association (FICA).
  5. Senior Diplomat Ruchira Kamboj has been appointed as the next Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.
  6. The first ‘Bharat Gaurav’ tourist train connecting places associated with the Ramayana Circuit in India and Nepal was flagged off from the Safdarjung railway station in New Delhi on 21 June 2022.
  7. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on 21 June  Inaugurated the Seismology Observatory in the Udhampur District of Jammu and Kashmir.
  8. ‘Single-Use Plastic’ use to be outflow from July 1st, 2022 by the Union Government. Single-use plastics, particularly those made of polystyrene and expanded polystyrene, will be illegal to produce, import, stock, distribute, sell, and use starting on July 1, 2022 nationwide.
  9.  Khuvsgul Lake National Park of Mongolia has been added to the World Network of Biosphere of UNESCO.
  10.  Droupadi Murmu, and Odisha-based Santhal, as its nominee for the highest constitutional position, India may ultimately get its first tribal President.
  11.  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on the eve of 8th International Yoga Day released a book titled ‘Ashtang Yoga’ authored by Dr. Sonu Phogat.
  12.  Skalzang Rigzin, the first mountaineer from India to ascend Mount Annapurna’s top without the aid of oxygen was welcomed by Leh with open arms.
  13.  In Sri Lanka, the government has amended the minimum age limit for women leaving for foreign exployment as domestic aides to 21 years of age.
