  1. The “Day of the Seafarer” is celebrated annually on June 25 to honour the vital contribution that seafarers make to global trade and the economy. The theme for 2022 is “Your voyage – then and now, share your journey”.
  2. Entrepreneur Ranjit Bajaj has been named Chairman of an advisory committee to assist the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA).
  3. Scientists have discovered the World’s largest bacterium which can be seen with the naked eye. The bizarre bacterium has been found in a Caribbean mangrove swamp.
  4. The Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated a National Conference on the development of the Space Start-up Ecosystem in India, on 24 June 2022, in Bengaluru.
  5. Retired IAS officer and former Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary Parameswaran Iyer has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog.
  6. Kerala Government is going to roll out MEDISEP- the medical insurance scheme for State Government employee, pensioners and their eligible family members from 1st July 2022.
  7. The European parliament on 23 June 2022 granted European Union (EU) candidate status to Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
  8. Cyclist Ronaldo Singh made history by winning a silver medal in the senior category sprint event at the Asian Track Cycling Championship 2022 (41st edition) held in New Delhi.
  9. The Central Government on 24 June 2022 appointed senior IPS officer Tapan Kumar Deka as Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB).
  10.  Leading Stock exchange BSE said its board has appointed S S Mundra, a public interest director, as the chairman of the Bourse. Mundra will replace Justice Vikramajit Sen.
  11.  The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) have approved the merger of multiplex chain PVR and Inox Leisure.
  12.  The Government on 24 June 2022 extended the tenure of current Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) Chief Samant Kumar Goel for another year, till June 30, 2023.
  13.   Karnataka Bank has launched an online Savings Bank (SB) account opening facility through the ‘Video-based Customer Identification Process’ (V-CIP).
  14.  ICICI Bank unveiled a digital platform named “Campus Power” to assist students who want to pursue higher education in India and abroad.
