  1. International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day, is conducted by the United Nations. It is observed on 26 June annually. “Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crises” is the theme for 2022’s celebration of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.  
  2. The United Nations General Assembly on  12 December, 1997, adopted a resolution to proclaim  26 June as the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
  3. A new species of jumping spider named “Pseudomogrus Sudhii” has been discovered in the Thar Desert, Rajasthan.
  4. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) appointed Venkat Nageswar Chalasani, former Deputy Managing Director of SBI, as a member of the Advisory Committee of Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited (SIFL) and Srei Equipment Finance Limited (SEFL).
  5. Madhya Pradesh defeated Mumbai by six wickets to win their first-ever Ranji Trophy title at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 26 June, 2022.
  6. Former foreign secretary Shyam Saran has taken over as the new President of the prestigious India International Centre.
  7. Ministry of Defence has approved setting up of wayside amenities under the brand of ‘BRO Cafes’ at 75 locations on different sections of roads with Border Roads Organisation (BRO) across 12 states and Union territories.
  8. The National Health Authority (NHA) will host its first-ever open-to-all hackathon series from 14 to 17 July 2022. It has been set up to implement ‘Pradhan Mantra Jan Arogya Jojana’.
  9.  A rare carnivorous plant named ‘Utricularia Furcellata’ has been discovered in the Mandal valley of Chamoli district by the research wing of the Uttarakhand Forest Department.
  10.  Archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma won the gold medal in the compound mixed team event at the Archery World Cup 2022 Stage-3 in Paris on 25 June, 2022.
  11.  Indian women’s discus thrower Navjeet Dhillon won the gold medal at the Qosanov Memorial 2022 athletics meet in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 25 June 2022.
  12.  Mo Bus, Odisha-based public transport service has been honoured with a prestigious United Nations award, for their role and efforts in helping the world recover better from Covid 19.
  13.  Business Journalist R.N. Bhaskar has authored a new book titled ‘Gautam Adani: The man Who Changed India’, a biography of Gautam Adani, founder and Chairman of Adani Group.
