  1. World Chocolate Day is celebrated on 7 July every year to commemorate the invention of chocolate.
  2. World Kiswahili Language Day is celebrated on the 7th of July every year following a declaration by UNESCO member states in this regard.  This first celebration of the World Kiswahili Language day was held under the theme “Kiswahili for peace and prosperity”.
  3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 125th birth anniversary celebration of the legendary freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh.
  4. India’s Lieutenant General, Mohan Subramanian has been appointed the Force Commander in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
  5. At Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSUT), an artificial intelligence centre was inaugurated.
  6. Scientists working with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have discovered three subatomic particles never seen before.
  7. Indian Air Force fighter pilots Air Commodore Sanjay Sharma and Flying Officer Ananya Sharma have created history by becoming the first father and daughter in the IAF to fly together on a sortie.
  8.  Freedom fighter P. Gopinathan Nair passed away on 5 July 2022. He was the recipient of Padma Shri Award in 2016.
  9. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a 30-day Delhi Shopping Festival which will be organised from 28 January to 26 February in 2023.  
  10.  The Western Railway’s longest skywalk from the Khar Road railway station to the nearby bandra Terminus has been opened for the passengers to reach the platforms to board trains easily.
  11.  The Delhi Assembly has passed the Salary, Allowances and Pension Amendment Bills 2022 on the first day of its two-day Special Session, in July 2022.
  12.  Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Jyotiraditya Scindia have been assigned additional charges of Minority Affairs and Ministry of Steel respectively after two Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ram Chandra Prasad Singh resigned from the Union Council of Ministers, with immediate effect.
  13.  Bangladesh’s first campus-based IT business incubator was opened at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology on 6 July 2022.
  14.  Google on 6 July, 2022 announced the launch of ‘Startup School India’ as part of the Google for Startups initiative.
