  1. Tamil Nadu Day was celebrated on 18 July, 2022 as it was on this day that a resolution was adopted by the then Madras Presidency in 1967 and it came to be called Tamil Nadu.
  2. NITI Aayog and the World Food Programme (WFP), India, has launched the ‘Mapping and Exchange of Good Practices’ initiative for mainstreaming millets in Asia and Africa on 19 July, 2022.
  3. President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the resignation of West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar who has been named as the ruling National Democratic Alliance candidate for the vice presidential election. La Ganesan, Governor of Manipur, has been appointed to discharge the functions of the Governor of West Bengal, in addition to his own duties.
