  1. World Chess Day is celebrated annually on  20  July globally. The day marks the date of the establishment of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Paris in 1924.
  2. The General Assembly declared International Moon Day, a United Nations-designated international day to be observed annually on 20 July.
  3. The birth anniversary of Mangal Pandey, the leader of the legendary Revolt of 1857, was observed on 19 July.
  4. Veteran Indian shooter Mairaj Ahmed Khan made history by becoming the first Indian to ever win a men’s skeet gold medal at an ISSF World Cup.
  5. Former West Indies skipper Denesh Ramdin announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.
  6. The 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, United States.
  7. Former Supreme Court Judge, Vineet Saran has taken over as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ethics officer and ombudsman.
  8. Retired Army officer Raj Shukla has been appointed as a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
