  1. Senior Indian Information Service officer, Satyendra Prakash on 1 August, 2022 assumed charge as Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
  2. INS Tarkash conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with French Naval Ships in the North Atlantic Ocean on 29-30 July, 2022.
  3. A new book titled ‘The Journey of a Nation: 75 Years of Indian Economy: Re-emerge, Reinvest, Re-engage’ authored by Sanjaya Baru and published by Rupa Publications India Pvt Ltd has been released.
  4. India’s lawn bowls women’s fours team made history by winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022. This was the country’s first medal in the lawn bowls event.
  5. Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government has decided to carve out seven new districts in the state to simplify administrative operations. With this, there are currently 30 districts in West Bengal as a whole.
  6. Air India has decided to allow its pilots to fly till they are 65. DGCA allows pilots to fly till the age of 65 years, compared to the Air India retirement age of 58 years.
  7. Four new members are appointed by International Olympic Committee President, Thomas Bach. The appointments were made in consultation with Emma Terho, Chair of the IOC Athletes Commission. 
  8. Indian judoka Shushila Devi Likmabam on 1 August, 2022 won a silver in the women’s judo 48 kg final at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
  9. Renowned Bengali singer Nirmala Mishra passed away at the age of 81 on 31 July, 2022 in Kolkata.
  10. The Environmental Insights Explorer (EIE) data from Google has been officially released in Aurangabad, according to the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL).
  11. The BSE and NSE stock exchanges have given Zee Entertainment their approval for Zee Entertainment’s proposed merger with Sony Pictures Networks India.
  12. A joint ballistic missile defence exercise between South Korea, the US and Japan will begin this week in the waters off Hawaii as part of increased security cooperation against North Korea’s growing military threats, a media outlet claimed.
  13. The World Bank has appointed Auguste Tano Kouamé as the Country Director for India, effective.
  14. Indian weightlifter Vikas Thakur completed a hat-trick of Commonwealth Games medals after winning a silver in the men's 96 kg category at the Birmingham 2022.
