  1. Hiroshima Day is observed on 6 August to commemorate the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945, at the end of World War II.
  2. The government on 5 July, 2022 approved a one-year extension in service for Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba.
  3. Wrestler Anshu Malik on 5 July, 2022 won a silver medal in the Women’s Freestyle 57kg category final at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
  4. Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Ltd has signed an MoU with the Gujarat govt to set up an IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) Park in Vadodara.
  5. Eminent exponent of Assam’s classical Sattriya dance Garima Hazarika passed away at the age of 83 on 5 July, 2022.
  6. Unity Small Finance Bank (SFB) on 5 July, 2022 appointed Inderjit Camotra as its managing director and chief executive officer.
  7. Rupal Chaudhary has become the first Indian athlete to win two medals at the World U20 Athletics Championship.
  8. The Indian Navy on 5 July, 2022 inked a pact with ISRO’s Space Applications Centre (SAC) on data sharing and cooperation on Satellite-based Naval Applications in Oceanology and Meteorology.  
  9. Indian wrestler, Divya Kakran has won a bronze medal in the women’s 68 kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

  11. Uttarakhand government has decided to develop one Sanskrit-speaking village in each of the 13 districts in the state.

  13. Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected as the 14th Vice President of India. Jagdeep Dhankhar was the candidate nominated by the NDA from BJP.
