  1. In India’ the National Handloom Day is observed annually on the 7th of August to honour the handloom weavers. This year the theme of National Handloom Day 2022 is “Handloom, an Indian legacy”. 
  2. India’s first-ever end-to-end Digital Lok Adalat will be held on 13 August, 2022. It will be held by the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA) and Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA).
  3. ISS Facility Services India, a subsidiary of Denmark-based ISS Group has signed an agreement with Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU).
  4. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel has launched the Indian Farmers’ Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) Nano Urea Spraying Scheme statewide.
  5. Mohit Grewal has won a bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 125 kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
  6. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has constituted an expert group of Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) to boost overseas flows into the country.
  7. ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal became the first batter of Bangladesh to score 8000 runs in the ODI during the first ODI being played against Zimbabwe in Harare.
  8. India lifted the SAFF U-20 football championship trophy by defeating Bangladesh 5-2 in the final at Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on 5 August, 2022.
  9. Women officers in the Indian Navy made history when they flew a Dornier 228 on the first-ever all-female autonomous maritime reconnaissance and surveillance mission in the North Arabian Sea.
  10. India’s Eldhose Paul scripted history by winning the first-ever gold medal in Men’s Triple Jump at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
  11.  Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the Women’s Freestyle 53 kg category in the Commonwealth Games 2022.
  12.  Star Indian para table tennis player, Bhavina Patel won a gold medal in the women’s singles class 3-5 at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
  13.  Indian boxer Amit Panghal has won the gold medal in the 48-51 kg category at Commonwealth Games 2022.
