  1. Bangladesh observes National Mourning Day on 15 August to remember and mourn the brutal assassination of the nation's first president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in 1975.
  2. 15 August, 2022 marked 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo.
  3. The golden joint of the world’s highest railway bridge over River Chenab was inaugurated. For the first time ever since independence, Srinagar will be linked to the rest of India after the overarch deck on the world’s highest single-arch railway bridge over River Chenab. The bridge will be 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower.
  4. ‘Putin-His Life and Times’, a biography of the Russian President Vladimir Putin written by Philip Short, a former correspondent for the BBC, The Economist and The Times, was released in the midst of the Ukraine crisis.
  5. IAS officer of the Nagaland cadre, Piyush Goyal has been appointed by the Central Government as the CEO of NATGRID (National Intelligence Grid).
  6. Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) in association with the Seafood Exporters’ Association of India (SEAI) will hold the 23rd edition of India International Seafood Show (IISS) in Kolkata, from 7-15 February, 2023.

  15. Indian Naval Ship (INS) Satpura reached the San Diego Harbour in the North American Continent on 13 August to celebrate the 75 years of Independence of India.
