  1. International Literacy Day is observed on the 8th of September every year. The theme of 2022 is “Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces”.  
  2. World Physiotherapy Day is observed on 8 September every year. The theme of 2022 is “Prevention and Management of Osteoarthritis”.
  3. PM Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Kartavya Path on 8 September, 2022. He has also unveiled the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at India Gate on the occasion.  
  4. India and Bangladesh on 6 September, 2022 signed an interim water sharing agreement for the Kushiyara River.    
  5. Renowned Carnatic vocalist and the Padma Bhushan awardee T.V. Sankaranarayanan passed away at the age of 77 on 2 September, 2022.  
  6. Birju Sah, the first Indian boxer to win medals at both the Asian and Commonwealth Games passed away at the age of 48 on 4 September, 2022.
  7. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on 5 September, 2022 launched the ‘Pudhumai Penn’ (modern woman) scheme in Chennai.
  8. The Rajasthan government is all set to launch an ambitious scheme to provide 100 days of employment to needy families in urban areas.

  14.  IDBI Bank’s board of directors has approved re-appointment of Samuel Joseph Jebaraj as Deputy Managing Director for three years with effect from 20 September.
  15. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has inaugurated a three-day conference called ‘Manthan’ in Bengaluru on 8 September, 2022.
