  1. Hindi Diwas or Hindi Day is observed every year on 14 September to mark the popularity of Hindi as an official language of India.
  2. On 13 September 2022, the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) Centre for Citizen Services has been inaugurated by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit at Jaisalmer House in New Delhi.
  3. The Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti launched the ‘Water Heroes: Share Your Stories’ contest.
  4. On 11 September 2022, the sixth edition of Japan India Maritime Exercise 2022 (JIMEX 22) hosted by the Indian Navy began in the Bay of Bengal.
  5. India will assume the Presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) for a span of one year with effect from 1 December, 2022 to 30 November, 2023. Under G20 Presidency, India expects to host more than 200 G20 meetings across the country, beginning in December 2022.
  6. The Anil Agarwal-led-Vedanta Limited and Foxconn Group will invest more than Rs 1.54 lakh crore to set up an semiconductor ecosystem in Gujarat.
  7. The government has constituted an expert committee to suggest ways for scaling up of VC and PE investments, as per a circular issued by Finance Ministry on 13 September. The six-member panel will be headed by former SEBI ‘Chairman M Damodaran.
  8. China has successfully tested its first fully solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which can fly for months and can function even as a satellite if required.
  9. Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi is set to be appointed the 14th Attorney General of India from 1 October after KK Venugopal vacates the post on 30 September.  
  10. On 12 September 2022, India and Madagascar signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the training of diplomats.
  11. Sjoerd Marijne, former Dutch field hockey player and former Indian Women’s Hockey Coach authored a new book titled ‘Will Power: The Inside Story of the Incredible Turnaround in Indian Women’s Hockey’.
  12. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-Madras) and International Business Machines (IBM) have cooperated to improve quantum computing research and talent development in India.
  13. The Union Shipping Ministry hosted an international conference on green ship recycling and vehicle scrapping in Gandhinagar on 12 September.
  14. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the first Indian Army Logistics Seminar in New Delhi on 12 September, 2022.
  15.  Indian Navy has participated in naval exercise Kakadu 2022 being organised by the Royal Australian Navy with the support from the Royal Australian Air Force.
