  1. Indian Air Force was raised on October 8, 1932 and it is completing 90 years today.
  2. World Smile Day is observed on the first Friday of October every year. In the year 2022, it was celebrated on 7th of October.
  3. Since its creation in 2006, World Migratory Bird Day has been commemorated twice a year. It is supposed to be celebrated on the second Saturday of May and the second Saturday of October. This year, it was previously celebrated on 14 May and for the second time, the world marks this day again 8 October.
  4. In Jammu and Kashmir, a first-of-its-kind Bird Festival 2022 was inaugurated at Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on October 6, 2022.
  5. Jammu and Kashmir have achieved the milestone of being the first to establish at least 75 Amrit Sarovar in each of its districts as per the aspirations on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  6. Telangana’s ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on 5th October, 2022 changed its name to ‘Bharat Rashtra Samiti’ (BRS).
  7. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on 6th October, 2022 launched the ‘Gujarat Gati Shakti Portal’ at GIFT City.
  8. The Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has constituted a task force to monitor cheetah introduction in Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh.
  9. South Korea and the United States began joint maritime exercises with a US aircraft carrier on October, 2022.
  10. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Chhattisgarh Olympics on 6 October, 2022.
  11. US astronaut Nicole Mann has become the first Native American woman to go to space following a NASA launch on 5th October, 2022.
  12. At the 36th National Games, Pooja Patel of Gujarat has become the first athlete to win gold in Yogasana.
  13. Asteria Aerospace Ltd on 6th Oct 2022 received India’s first micro category drone type certification for its indigenously designed A200 drone from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
  14. ICICI Bank on 7th October, 2022 announced the launch of an online solution named ‘Smart Wire’, to help its customers carry out SWIFT-based inward remittances in a faster and hassle-free manner.
