  1. World Arthritis Day is observed on 12 October every year and it is a global health awareness event that helps create awareness about rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. The theme for World Arthritis day 2022 is “It’s in your hands, take action”.
  2. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated a Water Sports Centre in the Koldam Barmana, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.  
  3. Former banker Ananth Narayan Gopalakrishnan took charge as the fourth Whole Time Member (WTM) in the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
  4. Former India captain and Chennai Super Kings skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni inaugurated the Super Kings Academy at the MS Dhoni Global School in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

  11. To provide irrigation facilities to famers of Himachal Pradesh, the state government has started a new scheme name ‘HIMCAD’.
  12.  Actor Tom Cruise will soon become the first actor to shoot in space. He has partnered with director Doug Liman on a project that calls for him to perform a spacewalk.
  13. The X-ray spectrometer ‘CLASS’ on the Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter has mapped an abundance of sodium on the moon for the first time, according to ISRO.
  14.  Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has entirely switched to green sources for its energy consumption needs, making it one of India’s 100 percent sustainable airports.
  15. Union Government on 11th October, 2022 notified the appointment of 3 new chief justices in different high courts following the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegiums. The new appointment are:
  • Justice Pankaj Mithal: new Chief Justice of the Rajasthan high court.
  • Justice PB Varale: new Chief Justice of the Karnataka high court.
  • Justice AM Magrey: new Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh high court.
