  1. 129th birth anniversary of Satyendra Nath Bose was observed on 1 January, 2023. 
  2. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the reappointment of Baskar Babu Ramachandran as the MD and CEO of Suryoday Small Finance bank for three years effective from 23 January, 2023.
  3. Maharashtra became the first state in the country to pass the Lokayukta Bill.
  4. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee (Uttarakhand) researchers, in collaboration with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, have developed a mobile application named ‘SwasthGarbh’ to provide antenatal care and real-time medical support to pregnant women. 
  5. Former world rapid champion Koneru Humpy has won India’s first-ever Silver medal in the FIDE World Blitz Chess Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. 
  6. SBI Foundation has designed a project in collaboration with Himalayan Environment Studies and Conservation (HESCO) that aims to promote equitable economic and ecological development in 10 disaster-prone villages in Joshimath Block of Chamoli District.

  11. Tribal Affairs Ministry and Amazon collaborated for future engineer program which will empower teachers and students in the field of digital education. 
  12. India assumed chairmanship of Wassenaar Arrangement from 1 January, 2023. 
  13. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited the Republic of Cyprus and Austria from 29 December, 2022 to 3 January, 2023. 
  14. Indian Bank, one of the leading public sector banks in the country, has launched its flagship business mentoring program for MSME entrepreneurs ‘MSME Prerana’ in the state of Rajasthan. 
  15. The Government of India has introduced a new Integrated Food Security Scheme beginning 1 January, 2023 to supply free food grains to more than 81.35 crore beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). 
  16. The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the two prominent institutions under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India have launched ‘SMART’ (Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research in Teaching Professionals).
