  1. World Civil Defence Day is annually observed across the globe on 1 March to honour the significance of Civil Defence and the personnel who have sacrificed their lives for it. The theme of World Civil Defence Day 2023 is “The Role of Information Technology in Risk Assessment”.
  2. Zero Discrimination Day is annually observed across the globe on 1 March to promote equality and fairness before the law. The theme of Zero Discrimination Day 2023 is “Save lives: Decriminalise”.
  3. United Nations celebrated the first ever World Seagrass Day on 1 March to raise awareness about seagrass and its important functions in the marine ecosystem.
  4. Civil Accounts Day is annually observed across India on 1 March to mark the foundation of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), one of the Civil Services of India under the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.1 March, 2023 marks the observance of the 47th Civil Accounts Day.
