1. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has launched the ‘Learning Science via Standards’ initiative to promote science learning among school students.

3. Union Minister Parshottam Rupala inaugurated the Phase-IV of ‘Sagar Parikrama’ in Karnataka on 18 March, 2023. It covered the stretch of Uttar Kannada on 18 March, 2023 and on 19 March 2023, Udupi followed by Dakshan Kannada.
4. Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on 16 March 2023, recommended the name of Indian Bank Executive Director Ashwani Kumar for the post of Managing Director of UCO Bank.

11. A bipartisan resolution was passed by the US, formally recognizing the McMahon Line as the international boundary between China and India’s Arunachal Pradesh.
12. Swimmer Sampanna Ramesh Shelar has become the fastest Indian in under-21 group to swim across the Palk Strait from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanuskodi in Tamil Nadu on 17 March, 2023.

Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district and the Union Territory of Ladakh, which have been chosen for their endangered tigers and historic temples, as well as their adventures and cuisine, respectively, are two of the 50 locations which are featured in the TIME Magazine’s list of World’s Greatest Places in 2023.
14. The Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi is hosting the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023 from 15–26 March, 2023. Legendary boxer MC Mary Kom and Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar have been named as brand ambassadors of the event.
15. The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Rao Inderjit Singh, launched the 24^th edition of ‘Women and Men in India 2022’ in New Delhi.
16. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has permitted banks from 18 countries to open Special Vostro Rupee Accounts (SVRAs) to settle payments in rupees. Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad said that 60 such approvals have been given by the RBI.
