World Hand Hygiene Day is a global healthcare event observed annually on 5 May to raise awareness and spread the importance of handwashing to prevent the spread of infections. The theme of 2023 is “Together, we can accelerate action to prevent infections and antimicrobial resistance in health care and build a culture of safety and quality in which hand hygiene improvement is given high priority”.
