1. United Nations’ World Youth Skills Day is annually observed on 15 July to serve the purpose of recognizing the significance of imparting young individuals with the necessary skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. The theme of World Youth Skills Day 2023 is “Skilling teachers, trainers, and youth for a transformative future”.
2. Dr. Preeti Aghalayam will be the first woman director to lead an Indian Institute of Technology campus. She has been appointed the Director-in-charge of the new IIT in Zanzibar.
3. Microsoft researchers have achieved a significant milestone in the creation of Majorana zero modes, a type of particles which are their own antiparticles, possess remarkable properties that could revolutionize the field of quantum computing.
