1. United Nations Nelson Mandela International Day is annually observed on 18 July to honour Nelson Mandela, a South African anti-apartheid activist who served as the first President from 1994 to 1999 and to recognize his values, including his commitment towards social justice, peace, reconciliation, and promotion and protection of human rights.
2. The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood (JKRL) has received the SKOCH Award under the theme “State of Governance India 2047” in Gold category for its outstanding efforts in creating marketing avenues for Self-Help Groups in the Union Territory.
3. On the sidelines of the 56^th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Jakarta, Saudi Arabia has officially become the 51^st country to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC).
4. Indian shooter Ganemat Sekhon scored 120 in the women’s skeet qualifying round of the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Lonato 2023 to claim a new national record.
5. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to establish the first IIT Delhi campus in Abu Dhabi.

7. On 18 July 2023, the President of India bestowed the prestigious ‘Bhoomi Samman’ awards to 9 State Secretaries and 68 District Collectors, along with their teams, who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in implementing the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) – a crucial component of governance at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
8. In an effort to mitigate the escalating human-elephant conflict issue, Assam has launched the ‘Gajah Kotha’ campaign, involving more than 1,200 individuals and promoting coexistence.
9. India’s renowned fintech giant, Razorpay, has made a significant announcement regarding its first-ever international Payment Gateway for the Malaysian market as it acquires Malaysian fintech start-up ‘Curlec’ for $20 million, which has been rebranded as ‘Curlec by Razorpay’.

12. A group of 43 Indian Army personnel is taking part in the 15^th edition of the joint military exercise called ‘NOMADIC ELEPHANT-23’ in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 17 to 31 July, 2023.
13. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) commemorated its 95^th Foundation and Technology Day on 16 July at the National Agriculture Science Complex in Pusa, New Delhi. ICAR traditionally celebrates its Foundation Day on 16 July each year, but starting from this year, it has been designated as the ‘Foundation and Technology Day’.
14. The third Sherpas meeting under India’s G20 Presidency held from 13 to 16 July, 2023 in the historic city of Hampi, Karnataka with Amitabh Kant leading the meeting as the chairperson. The summit was organized by the Ministry of Cultural and External Affairs.
15. International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA) and IIML-EIC, have signed a MoU to collaborate in supporting and facilitating FinTech and TechFin entities.
16. On 18 July 2023, former Chief Minister of Kerala and veteran Indian National Congress leader Karottu Vallakalil Oommen Chandy passed away at the age of 79 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
