1. United Nations’ World Breastfeeding Week is annually observed across the globe from 1 August to 7 August to emphasize regular breastfeeding for babies and to raise awareness about its benefits. The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2023 is “Let’s make breastfeeding and work, work!” 
2. Akshata Murty, the daughter of Narayana Murthy and wife of Rishi Sunak, has achieved the first position in Tatler magazine’s compilation of Britain’s Best Dressed for the Year 2023.
3. England pacer Stuart Broad on 29 July 2023, announced his retirement from cricket after the Ashes series.
4. Shivendra Nath, a 1994-batch officer of UPSC, has been chosen by the PSEB (Public Enterprises Selection Board) panel to assume the role of Chairman and Managing Director at Engineering Projects India Ltd (EPIL), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, in line with India’s G20 Presidency, launched the Resource Efficiency Circular Economy Industry Coalition (RECEIC) in Chennai which aims to promote resource efficiency and circular economy practices worldwide, bringing together companies from various sectors and countries.
12. The Uttar Pradesh Government is considering a proposal to increase the retirement age of government doctors from 62 years to 65 years to address the shortage of doctors.

14. Project Tiger and Project Elephant, two significant conservation initiatives in India, have been merged under a new division called ‘Project Tiger and Elephant Division’ by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
15. On 31 July 2023, Microfinance Industry Network (MFIN) elected Udaya Kumar Hebbar as Chairperson and Manoj Kumar Nambiar as the Vice Chairperson in its 14^th Annual General Meeting in Delhi.
16. On 3 August 2023, Noted Marathi poet and lyricist Namdeo Dhondo Mahanor, popularly known as Na Dho Mahanor, passed away at the age of 81 in Pune, Maharashtra.
