1. ISRO’s Aditya L1 mission was launched successfully on 2 September, 2023 at 11:50 AM IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India. The mission is India’s first dedicated solar mission and will study the Sun’s atmosphere, including the chromosphere and corona. It will also study the solar wind and its interaction with the Earth’s atmosphere.
2. Director duo Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti’s experimental film ‘Kalkokkho’ won the Best Bengali Film award at the 69^th National Film Awards.
3. Swaraj Tractors, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, has named Mahindra Singh Dhoni, the former Indian Captain as its new brand ambassador.
4. Union Government appointed Jaya Verma Sinha as the first woman Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Railway Board, the top decision-making body for the Ministry of Railways.  
5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 August 2023, announced that India’s first indigenously developed 700 MW nuclear power plant, located in Kakrapar, Gujarat, has commenced its operations at maximum capacity.
6. Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd, a unit of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), secured the media rights, encompassing both digital and TV broadcasting, of India’s domestic matches and BCCI-hosted domestic tournaments for the next five years.
7. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has appointed Manish Desai, the Central Bureau of Communications (CBC) Chief, as the Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB).

11. Nagaland has taken a pioneering step in the North Eastern region by launching the Aadhaar-Linked Birth Registration (ALBR) system to simplify the procedures of birth registration and Aadhaar enrolment for children aged 0 to 5 years.
12. In a monumental achievement, the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in Tirupattur district, Tamil Nadu, has set a new world record by constructing 1546 farm ponds in just 30 days.

14. Indian women’s blind cricket team defeated Australia in the finals by 9 wickets and won gold medal at the IBSA World Games.
15. India and Singapore piloted the first live paperless transaction using the Trade Trust platform, marking another significant milestone in the digital connection between the two countries.
16. Popular actor and comedian RS Shivaji passed away on 2 September, 2023 in Chennai at the age of 66.
