  1. The Central Government Celebrating ‘Good Governance’ week from December 20-26,2021.
  2. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), IIT Madras, and MapMyIndia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
  3. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren has launched a ‘Sports Action toward Harnessing Aspiration of Youth’ (SAHAY) scheme aimed at nurturing young sporting talents in Maoist-hit districts of the state.
  4. A new laboratory will be set up at the Defence Research Development Establishment (DRDE) in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
  5. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on 19 December appointed Rishabh Pant as the state brand Ambassador.
  6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ranked 8th on the list of the world’s top 20 Most Admired Men, in a survey carried out by data analytics company YouGov. The list also includes the Most Admired Indian Women of 2021 has Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sudha Murty. 
  7. The book titled ‘Rewinding of First 25 years of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’ authored by S. S. Oberoi, the former adviser at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) was launched by Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary of MeitY.
  8. A penalty of Rs 1.8 crores has been imposed on Punjab National Bank (PNB) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), while ICICI Bank has been fined Rs 30 lakh for deficiencies in regulatory compliances.
  9. Mohit Jain of the Economic Times has been elected President of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) for 2021-2022.
  10. The Steel Authority of India Ltd.(SAIL) has been awarded the “Golden Peacock Environment Management Award” for 2021 in the Steel Sector by the Institute of Directors.
  11. World Health Organization (WHO)  has granted emergency use approval to COVOVAX Coronavirus Vaccine which has been manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII) under the license of the US company Novavax.
  12. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has signed six agreements with four countries for launching foreign satellites during 2021-2023.
  13. A SpaceX rocket carried 52 Starlink internet Satellites into orbit from California on 18 December.
  14. North Korea has banned its citizens from laughing, drinking, and going grocery shopping for the next 11 days starting from December 17, 2021. 
  15. The BCCI said in an official release that K.L. Rahul replaces Rohit Sharma as vice-captain, who was ruled out of the Test series owing to a hamstring injury.
  16. Lakshya Sen won a bronze medal at the BWF world championships in Huelva, spain on 18 Decmber. Kidambi Srikanth has become the first Indian male shuttler to win silver at the BWF World Championships. He is the third Indian to qualify for the singles' final at the prestigious event after P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. 
  17. Magnus Carlsen of Norway won the FIDE World Championship in December 2021 in Dubai.
