1. India is celebrating 74^th Army Day on 15 January, 2022. India Army introduced light and more climate-friendly combat uniforms for its personnel on Army Day.
2. 'Thiruvalluvar Day' was observed in Tamil Nadu on 15 January 2022.
3. From 2022, 'Republic Day' celebrations will begin every year from 23 January. 
4. Minister of State for Culture, Meenakashi Lekhi has launched the ‘North East on Wheels Expedition’ in New Delhi to promote the Culture of Northeastern States.
5. The Sports Ministry has approved the appointment of Mauritian Aveenash Pandoo as the first High Performance Director (HPD) for weightlifting until the 2024 Paris Olympics. 
6. Adani Group and South Korea’s largest steelmaker POSCO have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore business opportunities in India.
7. A group of entrepreneurs has joined together to form a new organization, the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC).

10. Rear Admiral K.P. Arvindan took over charge as Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard, Mumbai from Rear Admiral B. Sivakumar on 14 January 2022. 
11. The 20th Dhaka International Film Festival begins at Dhaka, Bangladesh. The festival will showcase 225 films from 70 countries under 10 categories will be screened across various venues in Dhaka between 15-23 January.
12. Kamal Khan, veteran NDTV Journalist and a recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award passed away on January 14, 2022, at the age of 61 after suffering a heart attack. 
13. Virat Kohli stepped down as the Test Captain of the Indian Cricket team on January 15, 2022, after the series defeat in South Africa.
14. Nicaraguan President José Daniel Ortega Saavedra, leader of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), was sworn in for a new presidential term. This marks his 5th term and 4th consecutive term as the President of Nicaragua.
15. An ancient Indian idol dating back to the 10^th century, which was discovered in a garden in England, was restored in India on 14 January 2022.
