1. The 2^nd ASEAN Digital Ministers meeting (ADGMIN) was held in virtual mode on 28 January 2022.
2. Chinese researchers have discovered a new kind of coronavirous, NeoCov, which is spreading among bats in South Africa.
3. A recent study by researchers of the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in Japan revealed that the Omicron variant of coronavirus can remain alive on the skin for over 21 hours.
4. Telugu short film ‘Street Student’ has bagged the first prize in a competition organized by the National Human Rights Commission.
5. The Centre has decided to convert as many as 150 villages into ‘Villages of Excellence’ in 12 states with technical assistance from the Israeli govt.
