  1. 30th January is observed as ‘Martyr’s Day’ or ‘Shaheed Diwas’ annually to mark the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was shot and killed by Nathuram Godse during his evening prayers in the Birla House on January 30, 1948.
  2. ‘World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day’ (World NTD Day) is observed on January 30 every year. 2022 theme is ‘Achieving health equity to end the neglect of poverty-related diseases’.
  3. ‘World Leprosy Day’ is observed globally on the last Sunday of January every year. In 2022, the World Leprosy Day falls on January 30, 2022. Theme of ‘World Leprosy Day 2022’ is “United for Dignity”.
  4. ‘Beating the Retreat ceremony’ was held at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi on 29 January 2022. It marked the culmination of the 73rd Republic Day celebrations.
