  1. ‘World Day of Social Justice’ is celebrated annually all over the world on 20 February.
  2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched the ‘Smart Card Arms License’ and ‘Shastra App’ of the Delhi Police, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Delhi Police. 
  3. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that India’s first Bio safety level-3 containment mobile laboratory was launched in Nashik, Maharashtra.
  4. The government has approved the implementation of the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project by the Ministry of Home Affairs, during the period form 2022-23 to 2025-26.
  5. Nepal will be the first country to adopt India’s UPI system, which will play a pivotal role in transforming the digital economy of the neighbouring country, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
  6. The British government announced that it was canceling its Tier 1 Investor visa programme, also referred to as the "golden visa," over concerns that it may be enabling fraud and illicit finance.
  7. Faculty from IIIT Naya Raipur has developed a drone-based crop health forecasting solution. It can be used to detect insects and diseases in crops and recommend more accurate solutions to address them.
  8. The Institute of Economic Growth has appointed Chetan Ghate as the new Director succeeding Ajit Mishra.
  9. Srikanth Nadhamuni has resigned as Non-Executive Director of HDFC Bank. His resignation is effective from 18 February, 2022.
  10. Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan  (RUSA), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) will continue its operation of funding the state government universities and colleges till March 31, 2026.
  11. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 19 February, 2022 awarded India the right to host the IOC Session in Mumbai in 2023.
  12. The WHO has announced that 6 African countries will be given the mRNA technology to set up their own vaccine production centres.
  13. The former Indian footballer Surajit Sengupta, who played as a midfielder, has passed away due to COVID-19 complications. 
  14. Senior journalist and a reputed political reporter and editor, Ravish Tiwari passed away in February, 2022.
  15. Sakibul Gani, the 22-year-old right-hand batter from Bihar, made history by becoming the first man to hit a triple century on first-class debut, on the second day of the ‘Ranji Trophy 2021-22’.
  16. The prestigious ceremony of ‘Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022’ was held in Mumbai  on February 20 to honour the best performances from last year.
