  1. The ‘International Mother Language Day’ (IMLD) is observed annually on the 21st of February. The 2022 theme is “Using technology for multilingual learning: Challenges and opportunities”. 
  2. Arunachal Pradesh was conferred statehood in 1987, thus becoming the 24th State of the Union of India.  The state shares international border with Bhutan, Myanmar, and China.
  3. Mizoram attained statehood on February 20, 1987, following the 53rd Amendment of the Indian Constitution in 1986, thus becoming the 23rd state of India.
  4. Franchise cricket team Gujarat Titans has created a virtual space in the Metaverse, ‘The Titans Dugout’.
  5. SEBI has reconstituted its alternative investment policy advisory committee, which advises the capital markets regulator on a range of Issues. It is chaired by Infosys co-founder N. R. Narayana Murthy.
  6. IIT Roorkee has launched the ‘KISAN’ mobile app for the dissemination of Agromet Advisory Services (AAS). A regional farmers’ awareness programme was organized at Water Resources Development and Management Dept, IIT Roorkee under Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS) project, on 19 February, 2022.
  7. India will host the 2023 International Olympic Committee’s  (IOC) session in Mumbai after successfully bidding for it at the 139th IOC session.
  8. The Centre is set to launch a doorstep distribution drive for the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana’ (PMFBY). It will deliver crop insurance policies to the farmers under ‘Meri Policy Mere Hath’ in all the implementing states.
  9. Andhra Pradesh Information and Technology and Industries Minister Mekapati Gautham Reddy passed away in the morning on February 21, 2022 after suffering a heart attack.
  10. India and France have agreed a Roadmap on Blue Economy and Ocean Governance. This agreement came during External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s three-day visit to France, in February, 2022.
  11. Pratap Bordoloi, a pioneer of television journalism in Assam, passed away in February, 2022.
  12. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is leading a Parliamentary delegation to the UAE from 21-25 February, 2022.
  13. India has ranked third in the world for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) -certified green buildings in 2021 in the US Green Building Council (USGBC) annual list.
  14. Krishi Network has roped in film actor Pankaj Tripathi as a brand ambassador.
  15. CSB Bank has got the approval of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the appointment of Pralay Mondal as its Deputy Managing Director. He will hold the post for a period of three years.
  16. The ‘DefExpo 2022’ is planned to be held from 10 March to 13 March, 2022.
