1. ‘National Science Day’ is celebrated on February 28 across the country in honour and memory of the great scientist C.V. Raman. The theme of National science Day is ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future’.
2. ‘Rare Disease Day’ is observed on the last day of February every year. The main objective is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives.
3. Chandra Shekhar Azad’s 91^st death anniversary was observed on 27 February 2022. The freedom fighter Azad was born on July 23, 1906.
4. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar on 26 February 2022 launched the ‘Meri Policy, Mere Haath’, initiative aimed at motivating farmers to insure their crops.
5. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has dedicated INS Visakhapatnam, the indigenously designed and constructed guided-missile stealth destroyer named after the City of Destiny - Visakhapatnam, to the nation in a formal ceremony held at Naval Dockyard on 27 February.
6. The first-night navigation mobile application in rivers in the country was launched for ferries of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, in February 2022.
7. An IIT Delhi start-up has launched the “world’s smallest” wearable air purifier, claiming it is as effective as an N95 face mask.
8. Faced with a declining number of Camels in Rajasthan, the state govt has announced a ‘Camel Protection and Development Policy’ in its budget 2022-23.
9. Jimmy Soni has come with his new book ‘The Founders: The Story of Paypal and the the Entrepreneurs Who Shaped Silicon Valley’. It has been published by Simon & Schuster.
10. Microsoft founder and philanthropist, Bill Gates has been conferred with Hilal-e-Pakistan, the second-highest civilian honour in the country, for his efforts to help eradicate polio in Pakistan.
11. The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) was declared winner in three categories at 12th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards for its indigenously designed and developed innovative telecom solutions.
12. On February 27, China launched a Long March-8 rocket to place 22 satellites in space. 
13. U.S President Joe Biden has nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, calling her "one of the nation's brightest legal minds". She will be the first black woman to serve in the court's 233-year history if confirmed.
14. The United States and the European Union (EU) have decided to cut off a number of Russian banks from SWIFT, the main international payment system. Russia’s central bank assets will also be frozen, which will limit Moscow’s ability to access its foreign reserves.
15. On the fourth day of Russian invasion to Ukraine, Russia destroyed the largest plane in the world called “Ukraine’s Antonov-225 cargo plane”. 
16. In tennis, Rafael Nadal (Spain) beat British number one Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4 to win the singles title of ‘Mexican Open 2022’ (also known as ‘Acapulco’ title).
