1. ‘Utkal Divas’ or ‘Utakala Dibasha’ or ‘Odisha Day’ is celebrated on April 1^st every year. Odisha celebrates its 87^th foundation Day on 1 April 2022.
2. ‘Prevention of Blindness Week 2022’ is celebrated by the Government of India from 1^st April to 7^th April to spread awareness about Blindness. Prevent Blindness has declared 2022 the “Year of Children’s Vision”.
3. The Basavaraj Bammai Government announced the ‘Vinaya Samarasya Yojana’ as a public awareness campaign against caste prejudice in the state’s gramme panchayats. It will be formally launched on April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
4. Union Government has decided to reduce disturbed areas under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Nagaland, Assam and Manipur on 31 March 2022.
5. Bihar Legislative Assembly passes the Bihar Prohibition and Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2022 on March 2022.
6. National Conclave on “Production of Bees Wax” was organized by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Gujarat in collaboration with the National Bee Board (NBB), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 30^th March 2022.
7. ‘Jingkieng Jri Living Root Bridge’, found in over 70 villages in Meghalaya highlighting the socio-cultural, social and botanical links between people and nature, has been included in the tentative list of World Heritage Sites of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
8. As per the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, DD Free Dish has become the largest ‘DTH platform’ reaching over 43 million households by March 2022.

15. The 20^th edition of the Bilateral Naval Exercise between Indian and French Navies – ‘VARUNA’ is being conducted in the Arabian Sea from 30 March – 03 April 2022.
16. The 3^rd Chief Minister of Sikkim, Bhim Bahadur Gurung has passed away at his residence in Lumsui in Gangtok, Sikkim.
