  1. World Thalassemia Day is celebrated on May 8 every year to commemorate Thalassemia victims and to encourage those who struggle to live with the disease. The theme for this year’s World Thalassemia Day is ‘Be Aware. Share. Care: Working with the global community as one to improve thalassemia Knowledge’.
  2. World Red Cross Day is observed globally on 8 May every year. The theme of World Red Cross Day 2022 is #BeHUMANKIND (Believe in the power of Kindness).
  3. In Haryana, the mascot, logo, Jersey, and theme song of Khelo India Youth Games were launched in a special ceremony held at Indradhanush Stadium in Panchkula on 7 May 2022.
  4. The Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated a proposal to install Solar Energy Panels in the campuses of Central Armed Police Forces and national Security Guard.
  5. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has imposed a compensation of Rs 41.21 crore on Singareni Collieries Company Limited in Telangana.
