1. World Thalassemia Day is celebrated on May 8 every year to commemorate Thalassemia victims and to encourage those who struggle to live with the disease. The theme for this year’s World Thalassemia Day is ‘Be Aware. Share. Care: Working with the global community as one to improve thalassemia Knowledge’.
2. World Red Cross Day is observed globally on 8 May every year. The theme of World Red Cross Day 2022 is #BeHUMANKIND (Believe in the power of Kindness).
3. In Haryana, the mascot, logo, Jersey, and theme song of Khelo India Youth Games were launched in a special ceremony held at Indradhanush Stadium in Panchkula on 7 May 2022.
4. The Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated a proposal to install Solar Energy Panels in the campuses of Central Armed Police Forces and national Security Guard.
5. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has imposed a compensation of Rs 41.21 crore on Singareni Collieries Company Limited in Telangana.
6. The very first trainset of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor was handed over to National Capital Region Transport Corporation on 7 May 2022.
7. A delegation under the leadership of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar is going to visit Israel from May 8-11, 2022.
8. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has released a book titled ‘INDO-PAK WAR 1971-Reminiscences of Air Warriors’ at the 37^th Air Chief Marshal PC Lal Memorial Lecture organised by the Air Force Association in New Delhi, Delhi.

10. The Haryana State Government launches the ‘E-Adhigam’ scheme under which nearly 3 lakh students will be receiving tablet computers to aid their online education.
11.  The Delhi cabinet has approved the 'Delhi Startup Policy' with an aim to create an ecosystem for people to launch startups.
12.  Adani Wilmar Limited became the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company (FMCG) in India beating Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).
