  1. ‘World Bee Day’ is observed worldwide on 20 May. This year Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has celebrated World Bee Day through a virtual event, under the theme ‘Bee Engaged: Celebrating the diversity of bees and beekeeping system’.
  2. Every year on the third Friday of  May, people across the globe observe ‘National Endangered species Day’. This year the day is celebrated on 20 May. The National Endangered Species Day theme 2022 is ‘Recovering Key Species for ecosystem restoration’.
  3. ‘World Metrology Day’ (WMD) is annually observed across the globe on 20 May to create awareness about the Metrology, the science of measurement and its application. The theme for World Metrology Day 2022 is ‘Metrology in the Digital Ear’.
  4. The wax museum Madame Tussauds is returning to India. The museum will be located in a Noida Mall.
  5. The Kerala government will launch a state-owned over-the-top (OTT) platform on 1 November, offering film lovers an array of movies, short films and documentaries of their choice.
  6. The Board of Directors of InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) appointed Pieter Elbers as Chief Executive officer.
  7. Nikhat Zareen gave a dazzling performance to beat Thai Olympian Jutamas Jitpong 5-0 and become the fifth Indian woman to win a World title at the Women’s World Championships, Istanbul.
  8. Private Sector rocket marker Skyroot Aerospace Private Ltd. Successfully tested its Kalam-100 rocket that will power the Vikram-1 rocket’s third stage/engine.
  9. The Saudi Tourism Authority and EaseMyTrip have signed an MoU to boost inbound tourism to Saudi Arabia by leveraging the company’s travel network.
  10. Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim achieved the distinction of being the first cricketer in the country to score 5000 runs in test matches.
  11.  Two Indian boxers Manisha Moun in 57kg and parveen Hooda in 63kg category won bronze medals at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.
  12.  Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur and his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr. Hasan Mahmud jointly released a 90-second intriguing trailer of the India-Bangladesh co-production feature film on ‘Bangabandhu’, in May 2022.
  13.   Chinese scientists have proposed a space project to survey the sky through a space-borne telescope to hunt for habitable Earth-like planets outside the solar system, about 32 light-years from Earth.
  14.  Adani Sportsline, a division of the diverse Adani Group, has created history by gaining the rights to own and manage a franchise in the UAE’s top T20 competition.
  15.  Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs and India’s Governor for the New Development Bank (NDB), Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 7th Annual Meeting of Board of Governors of NDB through video conference in New Delhi.
