  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated India’s biggest drone festival in New Delhi and interacted with Kisan drone pilots as well as witnessed open-air drone demonstrations. ‘Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022’ is set to be a two-day event being held on 27 and 28 May.
  2. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s death anniversary is observed on 27 May every year. He was the first Prime Minister of India and was also the longest-serving PM of the country.
  3. Former RBI governor Bimal Jalan writes a new book titled ‘The India Story’. The Book focuses on India’s economic history and aims to provide lessons for the future of India’s political economy.
  4. Indian writer Geetanjali Shree and American translator Daisy Rockwell won the International Booker Prize for “Tomb of Sand”.
  5. Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been honoured with an international award for his contribution to cinema.
  6. An Indian Government Officer, Anwar Hussain Shaik has been made the chair of the World Trade Organisation’s Committee on Technical Barriers on Trade.
  7. International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup 2022 was held at Suhl in Germany. At the ISSF Junior World Cup 2022, the Indian contingent was led by ace shooters Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary.
  8. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the proposal for the creation of a new Defence Estates Circle exclusively for Uttarakhand.
  9. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has inaugurated the country’s first ‘Lavendar festival’ at Jammu’s Bhaderwah where the cultivation of lavender has transformed the economy of the mountainous area.
  10. Veteran Journalist and author Sat Soni passed away in May 2022.
  11.  West Bengal has bagged the prestigious ‘Star of Governance-SKOCH Award in Education’. The award will be bestowed on the state at a function in New Delhi on 18June, as a part of  India Governance Forum.
  12.  Dr Vishwa Cariappa BS, Managing Director of San Group of Companies was presented ‘Achievers of Bengaluru’ Award at a function held in Bengaluru in May 2022.
  13.  Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel launched the Indian Business Portal in New Delhi on 27 May, 2022.
