  1. ‘International Everest Day’ is celebrated on 29 May every year. This day celebrates the first summit of Mt Everest by New Zealand’s Sir Edmund Hillary and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.
  2. ‘International Day of UN Peacekeepers’ is observed globally on 29 May. The theme for this year’s Day is “People. Peace. Progress. The Power of Partnerships”.
  3. Chaudhary Charan Singh’s death anniversary is observed every year on 29May. He served as the 5th Prime Minister of India.
  4. 17th edition of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is being held from 29 May-4 June, 2022 at Nehru Centre Auditorium, Worli, Mumbai.
  5. INS Gomati was decommissioned at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on 28 May, 2022.
  6. Filmmaker Shaunak Sen’s documentary ‘All That Breathes’ has been honoured with the 2022 L’OEil d’Or award.

  10. On 27 May, 2022 Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a Cyber Security Operation Centre in Bhubaneswar as part of efforts to protect government data.
  11.  Gujarat Titans won the 15th edition of the IPL on 29 May, 2022, after defeating Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in the final in Ahmedabad.
  12.  Recognising its efforts in controlling tobacco consumption, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has selected Jharkhand for the World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) Award-2022.
  13.  29-year old Punjabi Singer, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district, Punjab.
