  1. The ‘World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought’ is observed on 17 June each year to promote public awareness of international efforts to combat desertification. The theme of 2022 Desertification and Drought Day “Rising up from drought together”.
  2. The Eighth global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has been started in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt to address climate change.
  3. Former Supreme Court judge Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai is believed to have been chosen as the next head of the Press Council of India (PCI).
  4. As part of their deployment to South -East Asia, Indian Naval Ships ‘Sahyadri’ and ‘Kamorta’, are on a three-day visit to Indonesia from 15 June, 2022.
  5. One of the most respected Urdu critics and linguists Professor Gopi Chand Narang Passed away in June 2022.
  6. Olympic Champion Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will lead a 37-member Indian athletics team for the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022.

  9.  Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the ‘Industrial Decarbonization Summit 2022’ in New Delhi on 16 June 2022.

  11.  Indian Para-powerlifters Manpreet Kaur and Parmjeet Kumar have won bronze medals in ‘World Para-powerlifting  2022 Asia Oceania Open Championships’.
  12.  US President Joe Biden is expected to name Arati Prabhakar as the head of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).
