1. World Chess Day is celebrated annually on  20  July globally. The day marks the date of the establishment of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Paris in 1924.
2. The General Assembly declared International Moon Day, a United Nations-designated international day to be observed annually on 20 July.
3. The birth anniversary of Mangal Pandey, the leader of the legendary Revolt of 1857, was observed on 19 July.
4. Veteran Indian shooter Mairaj Ahmed Khan made history by becoming the first Indian to ever win a men’s skeet gold medal at an ISSF World Cup.
5. Former West Indies skipper Denesh Ramdin announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.
6. The 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, United States.
7. Former Supreme Court Judge, Vineet Saran has taken over as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ethics officer and ombudsman.
8. Retired Army officer Raj Shukla has been appointed as a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
9. The 10^th India-EU Human Rights Dialogue was held on 15 July, 2022 in New Delhi.
10. India and Namibia on 20 July signed a crucial Memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the reintroduction of cheetahs, declared extinct in the country in 1952.
11. The Indian delegation, led by DG, BSF Pankaj Singh, arrived in Dhaka early on the first day of the 52^nd BGB-BSF Director General Level Border conference in Bangladesh.
12. Mexico has topped the Expat Insider Rankings for 2022, which was released by the InterNations recently, while India has been ranked on 36^th position out of the 52 countries on the list.
13. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 19 July, arrested former Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Pandey in connection with a money laundering case linked to the alleged illegal phone tapping of National Stock Exchange (NSE) employees, officials said.
